Respect Due.

Out of all the stories in the news this week –

Democrats regaining control of the House AND the Senate (yahhhhhhooooooooo)

Rummy (Donald Rumsfeld) deciding he’s had enough

B. Spears tell K-Fed to f*ck off.

Only one story this week is important right now. Puts it all in perspective.

We lost a true veteran in the game today.

Ed Bradley, 65, passed away today from leukemia.

Seriously, though, he IS the reason why I started watching 60 minutes. It was boring to me but his interviews were intriguing, interesting, intellectual.

The Muhammad Ali interview, the Emmitt Till story and even the more recent story on the Duke rape case.

A legend. A pioneer. An icon in journalism. A role model for African-Americans.

Ed Bradley. Rest in Peace.

One Response to “Respect Due.”

  1. His death and the death of Gerald Levert have made this a shitty week. Things were going so well! No more republican house/senate, K-Fed becoming Fed-Ex, Rumsfeld getting a Bush boot to his sorry ass, oh and AZ voters choosing to NOT allow our state constitution to be re-written to “protect marriage between a man and woman ONLY”…

    But I’m getting off track.

Ed Bradley and Gerald Levert R.I.P…two influential, important black men.
